The face behind Healing Play and a practitioner with over 15 years’ experience supporting children, families and staff in the Out of Home Care and Family Services sector.
Waleska is extremely passionate about working in the trauma space and therefore has built a clinic that is trauma informed, integrative committed to helping children heal and be the best versions of themselves.
Waleska works from an Integrative Play Therapy model that incorporates techniques from multiple play therapy disciplines.
Jennifer Nguyen
Registered Play Therapist
B. Psychology; M. Child Play Therapy
Our registered Child Play Therapist with a background in Psychology.
Jennifer holds a strong interest in attachment and trauma work as well as a passion empowering child development. She considers that every child has a unique perception of the world, and that play is an important medium of self-expression. Jennifer believes in facilitating a warm and calm presence in the play space with children, and demonstrates empathy, attunement and unconditional positive regard for them.
SHANNON MOORE
Learn to Play Specialist
B, Youth Work; GD, Therapeutic Child Play
Our certified Learn to Play Therapist. Shannon has a Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Child Play, a Bachelor of Youth Work, and years of experience working with children and adolescents in refuges and state residential care.
Shannon brings a strengths-based approach to her work and believes in meeting children where they’re, to then grow and support them through play. Attunement and establishing a therapeutic relationship with the whole family is paramount in her work, as she is also passionate about building parenting capacity around understanding and engaging in play.
